As a vegetarian from California traveling through Iowa, I was a little nervous about finding a restaurant in Mount Pleasant. De Brito Baking Bistro was recommended to me by my cousin and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, and the fresh vegetables were cooked to perfection. I couldn't have been happier. The owners were delightful.

Pretty terrible. Overpriced and bad food. We didnt eat the eggs Benedict because it had a horrible rotten smell.

Every time I'm in Mt. Pleasant I can't help but come here for creative food, small town friendly service, and a tasty lunch. They also have baked goods that are to die for

The owners are very nice and friendly. As far as the menu goes, its pretty tasty. Portions can be a tad small and they are only open on Friday and Saturday nights which is a bummer for a girl who works office hours. Sunday brunch is supposed to be good and they have theme nights, nice change of pace for Mt. Pleasant.

A bit upscale compared to the rest of the local places to eat. We had breakfast one Saturday and it was not your usual fare, which is a nice change. The quiche was very good, portions were a bit small, but we do not always need those artery clogging meals. Looking for something different? Try it...

This place is fabulous! Especially for breakfast. The service is great and the food is fresh and made extremely fast. You can be in and out within the hour. The omelettes are my favorite for breakfast. I've come here every single morning while in mount pleasant and I'm definitely sad to be leaving! I encourage anyone looking for a good breakfast or lunch diner with fast service to try De Brito.

While I was here for Sunday brunch, they played Nirvana and Pink Floyd. Big points in my book for stuff like that. Eggs bene on buffet, along with roast beef, biscuits n gravy, some nice herb toast, and all the other good stuff to make up a good time at brunch. Coffee was just OK. Staff was friendly. Everything seems nice and clean. There are some nice homemade pastries out as well. Very pleasant Sunday.

Stopped by for lunch during a road trip that led us through town. Carrot ginger soup was yummy. Salads we're pretty terrible: wilted/browning lettuce and not much in the way of accompanying veggies. Sandwiches average. If this place stepped up their salad game, it would be pretty decent. Staff was very friendly.

We had the Sunday buffet. Even though we showed up late with just half an hour left until the buffet was closed, the food still tasted fresh. Everything was homemade, from the cinnamon rolls to the pasta salad and green beans. For two adults and two kids our meal came to $43. Not cheap, especially for a rural Iowa town, but since it tasted good and the quality was there the cost was justified. The desserts were the highlight of the meal, especially the bread pudding.
